Auspice paused and stared blankly at the Human woman for several seconds. He managed to blink at least once in there, before his eye started twitching. "He's mine? Lovely." At that, he vanished.
More exactly, he flitted off at the full speed his half form provided, and didn't slow down until he came crashing into the Shifter holding onto Jamie. "Nice to see you again, subservient whore." He was standing behind Alastor, and had grabbed the other man's wrist to jerk it away from the little Human spy boy.
Hopefully the kid got the message soon and ducked, because Alastor probably had the advantage here as far as arm strength went. Auspice was coming from an odd angle, and he was ready to bet that Alastor was right handed. Practically everyone was right handed. It usually came as a disadvantage to be left handed in these sorts of positions, even the simple act of gripping Alastor's wrist would be difficult once he tried to jerk it away. He had his knife ready in his left for when the fight broke out, though. "Still with Than, then?" It was all a psychological game, and Auspice was having fun with it. He was practically breathing in Alastor's ear, and he knew damn well how awkward it looked, and how much Alastor wouldn't like it. Unless he got turned on by that sort of thing. Which wouldn't exactly put Auspice off of his goal.
He didn't move his gaze from the back of Alastor's right ear as he started to address Than. If eye contact was bad, then he'd be doing himself a damn service to keep from looking at the Elf at all. "Than! I've been having dreams about you again. Would you like it if I elaborated? I think you did some funny stuff to my head with that magic, you know. I'm getting chills every time I think about you. Scared me at first, but... you know. It starts to get fun after a while. Missed you." He smiled into Alastor's terrible haircut, and only just suppressed a giggle.

Alastor held tight onto the prisoner until the mangy pigeon shifter rammed into him causing him to release the boy and fall into the waiting grasp of the enemy shifter. In the struggle he had willingly released the dagger from his hand and let it skid across the cobblestones and to a halt a few Will-O-The-Wisps Lengths away. He then let himself going practically limp and slouch against Aupice's body as the shifter whispered in his ear, 'Daggers in the left hand, right hand seems a little lacking, left must be dominate,' he thought as his eye's scanned the area, hoping for an easy escape.
"Still with Than then?
Alastor made no move to speak, but relaxed slightly more as the shifter whispered into his ear, secretly turned on, by the annoying little voice that now spoke to him. And then the shifter went off on some random tangent about his dreams about Than and how it had caused him great trouble, please, it was causing more trouble for them then for the Pigeon with terrible hair, and a bad Mass to shift ratio. And then the pigeon moved his head right behind his ear and directly into his ear, here was his chance.
He tossed his head hard to the left knocking hard into the attackers face before twisting his left foot and right arm so that his wrist broke free of the weak right hand of the captor and then the foot knocked hard into Auspice's right foot causing him to stumble back. Here Alastor swung around with his right foot and knocked the dagger from Auspice's hand before turning tail and shifting before scampering off to his dagger. He then shifted again and grabbed up his weapon. A simple fling and the dagger sung through the air and through the fabric of Auspice's clothes and straight through to the wood of the door frame behind.

Calandra watched the odd little exchange end in Auspice having a knife thrown at him. She was unsure whether he was pinned by it, but it did seem possible. Trusting the shifter to be okay for the moment, she took the time to look over the human boy. "You look fine," she said after a quick examination, "But you need to talk to your leader, she seems worried."
With that, the daemon stood and turned to face Than. “You need to leave,” Calandra spoke venomously. “You are not welcome here or anywhere else. In fact, I aim to have you dead as soon as possible.” The daemon’s eyes were hard and her smile cold, she looked like she wished to kill him then and there.
Loki, who sat on Calandra’s shoulder still, grinned over at the dark elf with sadistic good cheer. “Hello, Bitch!” The wisp called out in a sing-song voice, “It’s been far too long. I’m looking forward to watching you die; perhaps I shall assist my pigeony friend in toying with your corpse.” Loki did not elaborate any farther, only turned and launched himself at Alastor.
What the will-o’-the-wisp lacked in the weight department, he made up for in sharp wit and even sharper claws. Said claws worked exceedingly well on naked rodent-shifters. A gleeful giggle erupted from the animal’s mouth as he went for the assassin’s neck and shoulders. While Loki did not aim to be fatal, it was doubtless that it would hurt like hell and give Auspice time to get his ass in gear.
Calandra didn’t blink as she plucked a foot-long blade from a boot and held it expertly in her right hand. Her rapier went into her left as she sank into a fighter’s crouch. “Let’s dance Than. See if you are really as good as you think.” She said it without drama, without flourish. It was as if she was stating a fact, something inevitable and coming soon.
She avoided the Elf’s eyes, recalling Loki’s story, instead focusing a little lower, around his chin and neck. Most likely he had other powers that did not include sight, but as it was, Calandra did not want to go spouting her fears. Not that Than could bring any of them into play in the first place.

As much fun as it was to kill the stupid beasts that called him one of their species Xal needed a rest. Perching on a roof to watch the happenings below he inspected the center of town carefully. Crawling over to the edge of the roof he peeked over at the people there. Some shifters he could spot out which made him cringe, fae, daemon, mortal. Quite the variety. His eyes quickly summed up the situation. Legs dangling over the edge as he sat there with an amused look on his face. So this 'Than' person was a night elf, that was easy to see, and apparently he was the one who caused this attack. From what he'd heard at least. And there was Auspice, a pigeon shifter apparently. What he wouldn't give to kill that one. Such a pathetic looking thing. Whatever the situation was it was entertaining. Some kid being caught pretending to be leader and all. Xal gave a smile. Perhaps he would wait and see how things went down. That sounded like a pleasant idea. Swinging his legs Xal found he liked sitting and watching. His dagger in hand that had been bloodied by those wretched shifters was in the process of being cleaned off. If the enemy had been anything but shifter he would have licked the blood right off, but that wasn't the case. Instead he was forced to use a cloth from his bag. Which of course he had on him, it wasn't like he knew this attack was going to happen. This battle just came around by chance. At least Xal was getting something out of it. Would have been a waste to come here otherwise.

Jaime got the message.
Immediately after he felt the newcomer pull his captor's hand away from his throat, the boy started to duck forward. It just so happened that his captor seemed startled by the grab and knocked the human to the ground, though he wasted no time in pushing himself to his feet as quickly as possible. The blonde whirled toward the shifter and newcomer - who, concidentally, was also a shifter - ready to help at a moment's notice. Of course, the next thing he saw the a dagger being thrown in the direction of the new shifter. So maybe it was a bad idea to try to fight the ferret-looking shifter off. Jaime knew how to defend himself, but he was no match for a trained mercenary or whatever the shifter was.
"You look fine. But you need to talk to your leader, she seems worried."
The woman's voice startled him. Jaime looked up, immediately pegging her as a daemon, since they all had that chaotic, intimidating aura about them. The boy just stared up at her for a moment, listening as she spoke to Than. Cloti... He'd forgotten all about Cloti. Just how much trouble was he in? A quick glance around the battle field showed that he was pretty much safe - the two shifters were locked in combat, and the daemon was taking on Than. Everyone else seemed focused on trying to take the city. Which reminded him that the leader must have been captured, if the earlier pleased look from the night elf was anything to judge by.
In a quick movement, Jaime had removed himself from the immediate battle range of both Than and the shifter working with him. Another quick look around and he found Cloti, who he bounded up to. No time for punishment; there was still a battle going on. "I know I'm in trouble. But the town leader - they must have captured him. He's around behind the town center." Jaime started to move in that direction, then hesitated and looked back at Cloti.
He was already in trouble though, so he might as well use it while he could.
Assuming that the spy leader would follow, Jaime trotted behind the town center, avoiding shifters along the way. "Hey!" the boy shouted at the little group that had captured the fae, trying to catch their attention before they harmed their prisoners.[/size]

((Sorry that this is my first post in like, forever, I'll get back to that stuff this weekend, maybe? A few days at most.))
He'd lost his own weapon, but Auspice wasn't worried. He had Alastor's now, right? He had a little trouble getting it out of the door frame, but it wasn't too long before he managed to yank it free.
The weight wasn't the best. A little heavier and longer than what he was used to using, these sorts of daggers were always awkward, not quite the right size. Alastor would be at the same disadvantage with a lighter, cheaper knife, assuming he was used to something more refined, so they were practically even.
Then again, Alastor didn't have a nosebleed. Stupid nosebleeds. Auspice had a feeling he'd be getting them more and more often. The thing was probably broken, and it was starting to act like a fountain.
So he was back to his feet, Alastor's dagger in hand, and he wasted no time in taking advantage of the distraction Loki was kind enough to provide for him. This basically consisted of kicking at the guy's feet in an attempt to trip him up. "Cheap trick, but rather predictable. I suppose you've been specially trained to do that sort of break? Or trained yourself? It's easier to fight dirty when you have to make it up as you go. I suppose it's the only advantage I've got, the fact that you overanalyze attack plans."

"That's enough of that!," Than as he walked towards the two, before breaking in between them, "etra faerne tama terecia kanton!" A cry burst out from the other side of the building as the Army of Green Flames caught the end of the whispered phrase. The language of the Etui Elves could be spoken in the lightest tongue and still be heard by those who spoke it. Than smiled wide as he heard a whispered reply echo in his ear, "Mastre ju divese hos evesat me statra hos." "It really is such a pity that he must die like this, I mean he was such a nice leader." On the other side of the building the group of rebels stood facing Jaime with the leader in the front whilst the other captives were held back, "What's the matter small-fry? The old coot your father, well we'll carve him up nice and sweet for ya," the lead guard said as he ran the flat of his blade along the man's throat. "Let me go, the Fairy Council will not stand for...," a fairy held by a guard on the right said before she met the ground from a blade stabbed through her chest. " "Pity really, any last words, montre?," the leader said as he labeled the man with the title of leader given to those who led their villages in the old language, "No, such a pity." The man strained against his restraints and mumbled around the hastily made dishrag gag. The blade ran again across the man's throat, this time the sharpened edge met flesh and tore across the tracheal tube and causing a cascade of blood to flow down his neck and the most horrid gagging sound imaginable. He fell then, across the polished stone, as the leader wiped the blade on his tunic, it carrying only a fraction of the blood that now covered the ground before his feet, "Tsk tsk, no sense in crying over spilled blood, might as well be going men, Than will want the city to burn in peace." He then snatched a green flamed torch from the solider beside him and tossed it onto a stack of hay beside some stable on the squares edge, "Fea koos na bourise!" With that thee band tossed several handfuls of green powder onto the polished stone, the resulting puff of green smoke enough to see them safely behind another building and then out of the city screaming, "TE CIUSA BRES HOS FREETCHA, TEME MONTRE LO DIVESO!" "Ah, you have failed, the leader is dead and soon we'll leave this city a charred heap of stones! Now look upon my face and see your fears, learn to live a life shrouded in fear, learn to give in to fear and let fear give in to you!," he then stretched his hand out before him and twisted the wrist slightly as though evoking some form of spell. "Fea," he uttered lightly before a mass of black and purple haze grew in the air before Auspice's eyes as it slowly hovered towards them and infused itself with them. They turned black as the night elf explained the condition, "Look upon me now as your worst fear... LEAVE ME TO THIS CITY, LEAVE OW OR LIVE IN FEAR FOR ETERNITY!"

The dagger clattered to the ground, abandoned. Auspice had shifted quickly in the sudden darkness, escaping the gas as best as he could. He had definitely breathed a bit of it in, and wasn't exactly looking forward to finding out what it was doing to him.
It reminded him a bit of a bad experience with some Laugillis, but he did his best to push the thought to the back of his mind. If Than was drugging him, he'd deal with that later. He didn't want to cause a false high with hypochondria. Anyways, it looked like whatever Than was doing might not have been directed at him. Maybe.
The pigeon burst free of the smoke clouds and quickly leveled it's flight path. Now clear to see, Auspice could make out Than doing his magic below. The Elf wasn't playing around today, it looked like he'd already basically accomplished his objectives. Still, Than would need to leave the battlefield alive...
Auspice made a lazy loop in the air, hoping Than lacked archers, while he considered his personal situation. He could continue his work for Calandra, get her name, and then be done with his slavery- but that would include fighting Than a few more times. Than was a pretty good strategist in battle, if not so much in politics, and fighting him usually meant losing to him. He could sell his soul to the Elf, secure himself a nice spot in Than's army, and keep to the winning side. There wasn't any proof that Than was going to stop winning any time soon. Except Than was an ass, and working for him would be tough. Auspice didn't mind working toward evil goals, but he liked to be given some freedom when he was doing his work. Than wouldn't allow that, he required military precision in his ranks. So that was that, then. He'd stick with Calandra's side and keep hoping that he would be the one to end the Elf.
He landed on the roof of a building, still above the smoke, and shifted so as to start shouting at Than again. "Hey! Elf! What are you trying to pull? You can't rule a country if you've killed everyone in it! I thought you liked to dream big! King of the corpses? That does sound like you, actually..." He shifted again and headed higher into the air. It was a bit tricky, the fire was doing some odd things to the thermals, but Auspice didn't want to be caught by any of Than's more terrestrial spells or friends.

"I was thinking more on the grounds of King of the Dead Pigeons actually," Than shouted as he snapped his fingers and the mist disappeared, "Besides, it's all part of the plan, wouldn't expect you to know much on plans, you being a sad excuse for an assassin and all." He then turned his head slightly and motioned for Alastor to leave. The assassin did as he was told and transformed before scampering off down an alley and catching up with a commander and hitching a ride on his shoulder.
He then snapped his fingers, "Now, my dear, dear Auspice, if you'll excuse me, I have people to see, men to kill, weak forms of government to overthrow, it's all rather technical, good bye!" Nightshade rushed up and Than threw himself on the stallion in a flash before digging into his saddlebag and throwing some green powder to the stones below causing a large cloud of green smoke to erupt from it. "YOU'LL LEARN TO FEAR! I AM YOUR GREATEST FEAR NOW, I HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE YOU SEE ME AS THAT WHICH YOU COWER TO THE MOST! NEXT TIME I WON'T BE SO SLOW AND CAUSING YOU THAT PAIN!," Than's voice rang out as he rode out of the city and into the cover of the forest.
