Above: A painting of the Ice Castle.
The Ice castle is composed of seven main floors, plus a myriad of watch towers and an astronomy lookout. The entry floor hosts the dance halls, parlors, dining halls, and entertainment rooms. The floor below the that holds the kitchens, laundry rooms, servants quarters, and storage areas. Below that is the dungeon and interrogation chamber. That part of the castle is plain, boring stone…and it’s always damp and musty.
The first floor off ground level is housing for the pages, squires, castle guards, and higher-level castle workers (such as the king’s herald). The second floor off ground level houses the knights and those members of the royal army who live too far away to be on call. The third floor off ground level is strictly for guests. Finally, the fourth floor off ground level houses the royal family.
The castle comes equipped with four gardens. The first is strictly for food. Stealing castle food is punishable by death or severe mutilation. The other three gardens are all four your viewing pleasure (assuming you are supposed to be in the castle to begin with). There is a rose garden, a labyrinth, a green house flooded with delicious smelling flowers, and miniature forest with one of over fifty different kinds of trees, modified with magic so they do not grow too big.
There are also animals living on castle grounds. This includes slaves. Slaves will either have a room on the dungeon floor, sleep with the slaughter animals, or sleep in a room connected with the person they serve. On rare occasions, a particularly useful slave will have a room in the servants quarters. Along with the slaves and slaughter animals, there are houses for horses and falcons.
