Welcome to the wasteland. No need to introduce yourself. I know who you are.
I know who everyone is. No need to be modest. If you've got a dirty secret, if you've ever been a hero, I know all of it.
So what do you want to know?
Listen, I'm Papageno, I'm your man. If there's mud, I've raked it twice. I'm the head spy for the Queen of Night, after all. If a little birdy told you anything, the little birdy was mine. I've got all the little birds around here, a whistle from me and they show up to spill what they've seen.
Who are the key players right now? Well, my boy Tamino showed up just the other day, apparently he's from one of those underground bunkers, hasn't seen the sunlight in almost twenty years. (You can hardly tell, he's been in deep hibernation and hasn't aged a spot.) So he crawls out and gets caught up in the war.
You're kidding. You haven't heard of the war? What, did you crawl on out with Tamino?
The Queen, she's at war with Sarastro. He's got a small holdout in the mountains, totally impossible to infiltrate. I've never heard so much as a squeak from the place.
The two of them have never seen eye to eye. The Queen's soldiers and Sarastro's raiders are always having at each other. I wasn't killing myself over information until something like a month ago. See, Sarastro's got my girl, Papagena. (You know, I don't like questions about names around here. Maybe we've got real names, but you're not exactly cleared to know them.)
He's got the Queen's daughter, too. Pamina.
The Queen isn't sparing any expense in getting her back.
She's got the most water, she's got an underground complex, and she's got loyal troops.
So good luck with surviving the wasteland. You need water? That's a shame. No shade, no clean water, you've got to strike a deal with one of the leaders around here. What did you think the bombs were doing all that time? Cleaning the place up?
If you're an idealistic man-child like Tamino, I suggest you just get out now. Don't tell him I said that. He still thinks I'm on his side.
Remember: Sides don't really matter. What matters is a clean water filter and a place to hide during the day.
Remember, the wind may whistle like a flute, but there ain't no magic in it. That's just decay setting in.
------------
((If you're into Opera you might have guessed, but this is a post-apocalyptic RP loosely based on Mozart's Magic Flute. (I've also thrown in a few Fallout touches. Just coz.)
No need to actually recognize the work to participate in the RP.
It's not in first person, if you were wondering. I just like Papageno's introduction...
So I've got Papageno, head spy for the Queen.
Tamino has just come out of the 'vault' if you will. He's met Papageno, but has no clue about the dude's position. The two are on their way back to meet with the Queen.
The Queen is currently putting fourth her best efforts to get her daughter back from Sarastro's raiders. She'll pay well if you can get Pamina back.
Papagena and Pamina are in Sarastro's mountain fortress.
So is Sarastro.
No need to be a 'canon' character, of course. Mixing things up is always good.))
