My head is reeling. I mean... wow. Today has been eventful to say the least. Tuft and I were just strolling around Spirit when we saw this awful shopkeeper trying to send this poor fae child to jail for stealing something he didn't even steal. I couldn't just watch it happen, so I helped him out.
Unfortunately, I had to give the shopkeeper all my money to free the fae... Which was worth it, I guess. Well, this guy saw it and offered to buy me lunch. He called himself Fox at the time, and this woman called Sparrow joined us. And who did they turn out to be? Cloti, co-leader of the Song of Heroes, and Winter, second-in-command to Cloti and some guy named Hawk... I think Winter said his real name was Rodi, but I'm not sure.
The really surprising part? Winter thinks I'd be a good addition to the Song!
This is almost like a dream come true... I've heard of the Song of Heroes before, and they are exactly the group I need. I mean, I've always wanted to help people, and this is the perfect opportunity. The bad part? I think I have to leave Briar... I'll miss my sister terribly, of course, but I have to move on in my life and follow this path... Maybe it's my destiny. Why else would the situation be so absolutely perfect?
I just hope they allow me to join... It's Cloti's decision. Winter seems to think that I'd make a good addition, but he's only second-in-command. But I'm sure I'll find out soon...

Y'know, I never knew training was so hard! Cloti (should I call her Sparrow here, just in case someone ever finds this?) Sparrow told me that I had to learn to fight in order to be part of the Song. I wanted to learn hand-to-hand, since I don't believe in killing, but she was persistent so I had to learn to wield a knife...
This Kenyon guy showed up though. He's a shifter. And he taught me hand-to-hand combat. He seems like a nice guy, so it surprised just how good he was at combat. I mean, I'll be the first to root for Sparrow's skills, but I seriously think Kenyon might be able to best her if he really tried. Like me, though, he doesn't seem to like fighting girls.
Another shifter was there too. Her name is Lael, and she's pretty nice. I know she is because Tuft likes her, and Nyeene only like people with good hearts. She liked Tuft too, so it worked out.
So I learned to fight. But I had to use it a lot sooner than I expected. Than attacked a fae village, killing people left and right. Sparrow and I tried to save as many as possible, but they got a hold of the leader...
Is this what Winter Nightingale meant by the Song going to change me? I mean, I knew I would see some gruesome things... But nothing like that. Thinking about it almost makes me sick, and it definitely makes me want to cry. But I can't. Hawk, Sparrow, and Nightingale would probably notice, and I can't have that...[/color]
