Does the Sparrow's eyes reveal?
Am I growing old or something? No, I don't think so. I just have too much on my mind and too short an attention span to deal with it all. Yep, that's it. No other problem.
Which reminds me, have I polished Feather and Claw today? Maybe. I didn't have any use for them, so I don't really need to polish them... right? Would Rodi mind? Maybe. I just won't let him find out.
Though this Than person... he is a threat. The Mound is where many of the Fae make their home. It needs to be protected. Our purpose is to protect, not to let lives go by. We will stop him. There is no other option for this. We will stop him and no one can stop us from doing that.
Damn, only if I felt as confident. At least Jaime seems confident. Confident, bright and eager. And a healer, a good addition for the Song. Definitely worth recruiting, but not to be trusted immediately. That little Nyeene of his, Tuft, is cute, but rather loud. Not good if you're trying to be quiet, the essential of a spy. And that is why I do not keep pets. They are effort and time, two things I do not have. Even I myself say so.
And on top of that, we have to get the information out of Winter. Need to gather the numbers and stuff. Need to stop stuff--er, Than. Right. And I still don't have time for the violin. Just when I got a good improv melody. Time really isn't on my side.

The emotion behind the mask of steel?
Ok. This is a very un-me-like thing to say, but I'll say it anyways because I'm in a good mood.
Yay!
Alright, now that I'm more or less done, I shall explain why. Because there's no one else to mind. Well, we've just got a new recruit. And he's a healer. And he's going to be here permanently. Well, as permanent as when the war ends. And then he'll go back to his sister if he can find her. I hope he does. Nothing like a family reunion, you know. Maybe I should have one sometime. If I find family.
Also, since I've had that brilliant brain flash, I want to go find and follow the night elf Than. He seems like an interesting person. I also want to find out his personal motives. The personal motives always differ from the overall motive. They are always more interesting. The more interesting, the better. That is all. More or less.
And I shall take Jaime along. Because I want him to come and I really want to go. Besides, he could help with the acting part. I mean, how could an avian shaman and a kid healer with a Nyeene be from the Song? Ok, they could, but they shouldn't guess. If they do, then I'll have to kill them. Not that I'm totally cool with killing of course. See, that's Rodi's job. I take care of the fine point spy network, not the all-out take-care-of-nuisances-forever network. That's Rodi and Winter the fae. I have fae with me too. But for now, the Song Spy Network is lead by humans. I don't know if it's a good thing.
Is it a good idea to go visit the City? I mean, people might recognize me, but maybe I could get a bleach job to disguise myself? The King's probably damned pissed about me--if he hasn't already realized that I'm a human, not fae and the rumors about me are untrue. Well, there's no need to give this all away now, that's not going to be good.
Besides, I can't die just yet.

As she flies away alone,
Alright, arguing my case has not gone well. I don't care, I'm going. Good thing I decided that that fae city (whatever its name was) should be supervised. Sure enough, Than appeared. Only problem is that I have to track him down--Jaime too, since he decided to run off. The troubles of being a mentor and a leader. Nope, not retiring anytime soon. Good try though.
That woman at the cafe, she's a real talkative one if I recall correctly, seems to go on about this Jack of Spades person who's an obvious threat to the Song. What's her relationship with him? Or is she a regular human trying to be friendly. Also, she seems paranoid. Heck, I don't even have kids, let alone anyone I fancy, so nope, I don't think her kids are having company anytime soon. I don't think I want my secrets spilled either. The Song has too much to lose.
So far, the shifters that I have met (most of them anyways--besides him) are either clueless and naive or gullible and helpful. Most are the latter. Can't say I don't like them, it's just tough to meet one of the shifters that don't feel like killing or cheating everyone they see. It's happened to me before, I don't like it, but there's nothing that I can do about it. If they're taken unfairly, save them, if not use them for information or leave them. Which reminds me, Than has gotten himself a whole bunch of shapeshifters too, hasn't he? [/center]
