Appearance:
Scarlet hair that shines in the sun and takes on shadow in the dark, it falls down past her shoulders to her chest. Swept to the right, the ends are wavy, as if she had styled it. Most is up in a tail that looks equally silky and styled, but falls down a couple of inches lower than her bangs when it is let down. When it gets too long, she always cuts it, mantaining it at a length that will not interfere with her battles and yet long enough to be attractive.
As all other battle muses, Amaranth's eyes are red, but instead of the more common, bright red, hers are darker, somewhere in between scarlet and maroon. No doubt there is a hint of professional battle experience in there, but the hint of wisdom and ration is more prominent. She seems rather cold and stiff to the outsider and whoever wishes to hire her and will keep such a pretense until they are deemed worthy or she has decided that they are trustworthy.
Not very often will the battle muse be seen without her armor; gold-rimmed decorations around the edges of the main bodice and gloves swirl, though otherwise, it is not very decorative. The only other items she wears as part of the armor are her boots (metal-rimmed leather) and her cape, which is green. The cape she is rather protective off and will wear it literally all the time. She is short for a battle muse, standing around 6'1, but is content with it, as she is able to tower above most others; another useful thing in battle.
Amaranth's weapon of choice is the double-bladed halberd. It stands around 1.7 meters tall with a spearhead of 20 cm and two axe-blades off either side; altogether a formidable and fatal weapon not to be dealt with. She keeps all three blades honed and sharpened, ready to deal out death at any second, although to the weaker minds, the mere sight of the halberd is enough to strike death.
Her steed Jager is a pale gray stallion. A battle horse that is trained to his master's every command. She and the horse are close companions and Amaranth would always hesitate to leave the horse's side. The battle horse is a loyal and sturdy companion that is experienced in carrying its master into battle. When Amaranth falls into the trance of blood, he has a tendency to look out for her, sidestepping any blows that he thought the halberd would not be able to cleave through. More often than not, Amaranth as had to thank Jager for her life.
Personality:
Calm and judging, Amaranth does not appreciate being taken by surprise. If she is, either one of two things will happen. One, the person will lose trust points, or two, the person will gain connectivity points. Both very simple concepts that she has learned will benefit her. And it was important to be benefited; the work you did had to be worth something after all.
One could say that she was a pretty hardworking freelance battle muse who will do the job that she is given. She needs to be occupied, or else she might become rather frustrated and lose interest in the job. She is not one that likes to give in to emotions such as love and happiness, believing that it will catch her off-guard as she has seen happen to too many.
Once past the outer shell, Amaranth will show a little kindness, thinking of her companion in different ways and seeking to aid them. She does not like to acknowledge the fact that she helps others and outwardly seems so with her stubborn indifference. She will not forget anyone who has made it into her inner shell; it's like breaking a horse and earning its loyalty. Amaranth will not let the loyalty of friends interfere with her job, which is why she is very careful about her job choices.
History:
As a battle muse, Amaranth was trained with the fae army, a cadet who learned to use a sword like the rest of the battle muses, but found the simple slashing power insufficient to her needs. It was easy to handle and sometimes, she would strike a target too hard. The battle masters called it impudence, she deemed it unworthiness. But infuriating as it was, she had to stick to the sword, eventually bargaining her way to to a broadsword and spear after that. She found an instant liking to the long spear, but relished the thrill of close-combat.
The next weapon the battle fae took to was the battle axe. Unlike the sword, battle axes usually only had one blade. And what did she do? She personally demanded for a double-edged battle axe, finally finding a weapon that was satisfactory. Notice satisfactory, not excellent. And that was when she browsed the weapon racks, coming across the rare halberd. Halberds were not popular for their shape and unbalanced weight, making it difficult to carry. Well, it appeared that no one had thought of a double-bladed halberd. Either that, or they were too chicken to carry it. No matter. The more different she was, the more people would recognize her as talented.
At that time, there was nothing happening within the fae army; there still isn't anything happening. That did not meet her expectations. Amaranth was ambitious, so instead of pledging her full loyalty to the army, she roamed Litharia, pledging temporary allegiances with different people, always sure to leave loopholes for her to escape through if she did not like the job any more. And so she makes a job like this, traveling around with Jager (who must always be welcomed for a job) and taking on worthy jobs. If they are knights or warriors of some sort, capable of fighting, she will challenge them to a duel to judge their skills.

The caped rider rode into the fringes of the multinational community upon the great gray horse. Her halberd was dismantled into two pieces, both strapped across her back. She didn't think that a city like this would appreciate seeing a huge double-bladed halberd. In fact, it would be both good and bad for business.
The gray stallion tossed its head proudly, staring down the more daring onlookers with his black gaze. Altogether, Amaranth knew that she was intimidating and the thrill that came with it was a little more than heavenly. She loved that feeling. "Alright, boy, what shall we do now, grab a bite?" She asked the horse, leaning forwards ever so little. The battle muse looked no one in the eye; they would come forward if they had a challenge or stay where they were if they knew what was good for them. A whinny from the battle horse was her answer; they would get something to eat.
Sunlight glinting off her armor caught the attention of many onlookers, turning curiously to her, then hurrying off. It was amusing, incredibly amusing. Amaranth always enjoyed this kind of attention. Seeing a diners, she pulled Jager over, dismounting and keeping the powerful air around her. The owners of the restaurant seemed friendly enough. "Sir, do you mind if my companion Jager joins me?" She asked politely. No need to trigger unecessary hate here.
