[Hara Small Fire]

Consumption

Heavenly wings carried her through the clouds, on the wind
Everything flew by her like the passage of time
Roundabout ways and conclave ideas made up her disheveled reality

Of course, everything was
Fine
Fine?
Indeed
Cancel that thought
Everyone deserves the chance to lie now and then

Consider this
On one occasion someone, a friend, flags you down
Not even a glance?
Somehow you can’t even see her
Unless you are only pretending
Marked, as you are, for this strange state of
Existing within fine inked lines
Destined to keep going without ever looking back

Heavenly wings carry me through the clouds, on the wind
Everything flies by me like the passage of time
Remember what if felt like to live? I didn’t think so…

Try

Together they fly through the thunder and rain
Reaching towards the heavens with steel tipped claws
Yesterday was much the same

Thunder clashes and their firebreath flashes
Heroes fall to this nightmare stampede
Each one, fed, returns to their hell-cave

Delineated; one stands out
Reaching towards the sky, his claws are free
And smoke blows from a fireless mouth
Go on, little dragon, go
On to the heavens that call you
Never give up on your dream

Envy

Chivalry is dead
Hearts lie shriveled in the dust
Indifferent lies carve lullabies
Carried in the rust
Karats buy your chains
Even though you try to run
Never hide from selfish pride
Remember why you won
And bury it alive
People fear the dark
They laugh, cry, and wonder why
Envy claims their hearts
Remember, dear, remember that envy claims your heart

Chatting

Cheerful smiles
Hateful thoughts
Attacked by words
That sound sincere but
Tear me up from
Inside out and
Never let me
Go

Little lines
Escape your lips
Teasing, probing all my
Senses

Maybe more
Are on their way
Killing, torturing my
Essence

Tonight I will belong to you
Hours will pass
In oblivion I melt before you
Never knowing whether I will survive
Getting through the night to face the
Sunlight

Riveting
Illuminating
Gather me in your arms and
Hold me through the night
Tonight I am only yours

Agonizing
Groveling
Another sun has risen to
Imprison me in guilt and shame, knowing…
Night will fall again

Tell me again not to fly away
Onto a new and beautiful day
Under the sun and into the clouds
Gathering flowers and skipping around
Have you no heart?

Listen close to the words that I say
Only a fool would tell me to stay
Vanity, greed, anger, and lust
Everything dies when you’ve no one to trust

Miles wide and miles deep
Even I’m afraid of
Xeric lands littered with the bones of
Idiots that thought they had the right to
Conquer and squander
All the fruits of the world until
Nothing was left but dust and ruin

Grief washes over the empty wasteland
Until the acidic rain pours down to wash away what’s
Left of life. Of love. Of laughter and
Feeling

Remember the day when everything changed?
Even the skies wept
Damned was the traitor who stole my heart

Little did you know
I feigned indifference and drank the blood of the hunt
Giddy with hunger and the smell of victory, the taste of change
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned
Thank you for pulling me out of the fog and into the fire
